About us
The Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit health and human service organization created in 1975. The Foundation’s mission is to promote and fulfill Dr. Philip Jaisohn ideals of humanity through medical, home health care (skilled), home care, mental health counseling, social/educational/cultural services for the enhancement of the quality of life in our nearby communities and particularly those of Korean Americans. The Jaisohn Center has offices in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties and the Jaisohn Memorial House is located in Media, PA.
Internship
These internship assignments can provide you with an excellent way to begin a career in a nonprofit or health and human service industry. An intern job is an opportunity to learn more about organizational governance, practices and the laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry. An intern will also gain exposure to departmental operations, administrative management and projects in a nonprofit environment.
Position Basis
- Volunteer college and graduate students only (There is no compensation by Jaisohn Center.)
- Internship Period: June 11 – August 3 (8 weeks)
- HIPPA signature required for some positions
- Own transportation required
Responsibilities and Duties
The internship will include duties in business administration & operation, healthcare management, marketing, communication, development (grant writing, etc.), and healthcare laws and regulations.

- Assist President & CEO
- Limited Shadow of executive management operation
- Support development activities, grant writing, etc.

- Nonprofit Healthcare Administration Intern (Junior/Senior student) (1 position)
- Reports to Executive Director, Philadelphia Office
- Ideal for aspiring students in healthcare administration/management, public health administration, healthcare business development, etc.
- Require leadership, communication, organization and writing skills
- Job Scope:
- Participates and leads ongoing internship projects
- Performs analytical information using spreadsheets/documents
- Support marketing & development activities, grant writing, etc.
- Prepares presentation and quality reporting/benchmarkin
- Nonprofit Marketing/Communication Intern (1 position)
- Reports to Manager
- Ideal for aspiring students in marketing, journalism, etc.
- Require leadership, communication and writing skills

- Support or lead newsletter & publication activities
- Establish & lead social media activities

POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR LEGAL CAREER STUDENT INTERN(“ATTACHED 2”)
– VOLUNTEER COLLEGE INTERN
Time Frame
8-Week Internship
Hours
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Duties
- Observe in the courtroom
- Perform work in the courtroom by assisting Courtroom Personnel
- Retrieve case files
- Perform research and prepare analyses
- Read and study the law
- Prepare case briefs
- Act as the designated “Summer Trainer”
- Draft memoranda discussing case facts and the pertinent law
- Prepare written materials suitable for judicial reference (such as, a Bench Book)
- Other duties, as assigned

- Level 2: Read and Study Rules of Procedure
- Level 3: Work in the Courtroom
- Level 4: Read Court Opinions, Analyze the Law and Draft Memoranda
